We would like to offer you a warm welcome to the Sleep Scotland Sleep Counsellor training course for professionals working with adults with complex needs. We are really pleased to have you on the course and hope you find it a positive and useful experience. 

This part of the course consists of three modules, that you will find below. We will then see you at your interactive sessions as a group.

This course is designed: 

  • To provide you with an in-depth understanding of the potential sleep issues children and young people, including those with additional support needs, may experience.

  • To introduce participants to the principles of cognitive behavioural management.

  • To enable participants to apply those principles to children and young people’s sleep problems. 

  • To introduce participants to running a sleep clinic for the families of children and young people with additional support needs.

This course is designed to provide you with a good knowledge of sleep and how we can improve our own practices to get a better night's sleep.

Our Good Sleep course, aimed at professionals working in prison settings is designed to provide you with a good knowledge of sleep, as well as introduce you to the principles of good sleep practices and how to apply those for adults in prison.

We would like to thank the mental health team at HMP Shotts, Scotland, for their support with adapting this course and the supporting resources for prisons.


The Sleep Action Introduction to Good Sleep course is aimed at adults wanting to learn more about their own sleep and looking for a few ideas to get a better night's sleep.
